January Rainbow Baby
In 2019 I started a personal project dedicated to Rainbow Babies.
A rainbow baby is a name coined for a healthy baby born after losing a baby due to miscarriage, infant loss, stillbirth, or neonatal death.
I have had many friends, family members and clients go through this and each time it left an impression on me. The private grief parents felt without the outpouring of support that usually occurs when a loved one is lost. I felt it important to draw attention to the people and the stories behind the loss. To let them speak out and be heard. To mourn with those that mourn and also to rejoice in new life... the Rainbow after the storm.
This is the first month of the 2020 JIP Rainbow Baby Calendar. Each month shares a story of love, grief and hope.

Here is his story as told by his parents Kenneth & Sophia
"I have been down a very long road to have my second child. I was told that I would no longer be able to have any more children after trying for 10 years, due to blockages in both my tubes and also my age. I had gone through many tests and surgery with no success. I never gave up hope. With patience and a hopeful heart, I was finally blessed with a beautiful baby boy.
I was overjoyed when I found out I was pregnant, and also quite scared that there might be complications with the pregnancy. But by the grace of God my son came out precious and perfect. We are truly blessed to have him in our lives
Keep the faith and stay positive. Patience is the key."
